Durga Puja in Dhaka, Bangladesh 2014

As we all know that Durga Puja is one of the prime festivals of Hindu Bangladeshis, this year will be no exception as always. According to the statistics, about 2700 shrines are expected to be built in Bangladesh to celebrate the Puja this year. Economically, about 20 billion Taka will be engaged with whole festival. In fact, Dhaka will itself organize 191 Pujas alone this year, 20 more than the previous year. Among those 80 pujas will be celebrated at Old Dhaka. On an average, the budget to organize those pujas will be somewhere between 30000 to 5 million Taka. The most popular Durga Puja in Dhaka is held at the Dhakeshwari National Temple.
